This unit monitors the four main culprits of environmental damage in your collections. It also displays cumulative lux and UV, battery status, logging mode and amount of logged data. This ensures you know exactly what is happening to both your environment and to the logger so no nasty surprises! The 574 is available in two options, the RTR574 which has an accuracy of ±5% for humidity or the RTR574H which an accuracy of ±2.5%. The RTR574 is powered by a single AA battery giving up to 4 months battery life.  Despite having a relatively short battery life compared to other loggers, the sensors themselves are on a 1.5 meter cable, this means the sensors can be placed within a display case or other secure environment and the logger can be placed outside for easy access for downloading or battery changes. Used in conjunction with the RTR 500 base stations, or the RTR500 data collector, the 500 series of loggers gives you the ability to offload data from the loggers without having to physically handle them. This means you could monitor the conditions inside a display case, without having to open it, for up to four years. The wireless base station option is suitable where the distance between the logger and the PC is short (150m unobstructed line of site) but this can be extended by the use of repeaters or by using the museums existing network
